Fine arts for creative minds!

A situation that came in every student’s life is choosing a right career option. Nowadays, apart from B.A. degrees, there are several other scopes of creative courses that one can opt for himself interestingly. Fine arts is one of those courses that is a mishmash of sorts of art forms like- sketching, drawing, painting and visualization. Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) is a unifying course of four years. It is a new concept of learning and exposing the creative minds of the students, especially those who have keen interest in designing. It is a best programme that prepares the learners for establishing their career in the field of visual communication and performing arts. If you have original, creative and pragmatic skills, then you have strong chances to get a success in this career.

All you need is your twelfth mark sheet on the basis of which you can apply for BFA programme. Of course, there is some percentage slab in the colleges that students have to achieve for getting admission in the institutes. If you are a parent and your child is really enjoy the coloring and sketching, then this course will definitely suit him. He should be able to create original designs that have inspiring power. The good part is that there are no entrance tests for BFA. Although there is a general aptitude test, which is conducted by college. The students must have passed their twelfth boards with at least 50 per cent aggregate. It is a vast course and several options are offered by BFA to the students. Some of them are – sculpture, painting, cartooning, graphic designing, fashion designing, sketching, photography, etc. When the student completes his graduation, he can pursue Masters in Fine Arts (MFA) having the duration of two years. Do Remember- it is a course for art lovers and who have the power to go beyond their imagination.

Once the student completed the BFA, he can join any art studio, advertising agency or the designing sector. He can be a graphic designer who work on logos and designs for commercial houses. Designing world is big enough and in the future, there will be a great demand for BFA students. It doesn’t matter if there will be a recession time, BFA graduates have a secure career. They can even do freelancing in abroad. They can join the work of designing murals and portraits as well as auction their art work in the exhibition. There are countless opportunities available for commercial fine arts grads in foreign countries. If you think that you can craft original designs with creativity, then opt for fine arts. It is especially meant for innovative minds. In India, there are several colleges offering the BFA courses- University of Delhi, College of Fine Arts (Kerala), Sri Padmavati Mahila Viswavidyalayam (Andhra Pradesh), Sri Venkateshwara College of Fine Arts (Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh), University of Mumbai, Allahabad University, Government College of Art and Crafts (Patna) and College of Art and Craft (Chennai).

Talking about the remuneration, it depends on the nature of the job in which the person is engaged. Generally, if the graduates are working in textile industries, advertising world and publishing houses, they get a starting salary of approximately Rs. 12,000 – Rs. 25,000. If they are working in production houses, drama or theatre, they get a salary of about Rs. 8,000 – Rs. 20,000 for each month. They can also join a teaching profession to make their earnings well. In India, many students are choosing BFA programme for a career in designing world. But, the package varies and depends on the ability and designing skills of the graduates. A fresher can work in Bollywood industry as well. He can join the producers and directors who are willing to work with spanking new talents.
